Mike Reflects

This section is where I reflect on the interview & tell you my favorite parts, as well as relevant personal stories & memories.

In all my interviews, especially with those who have been “around the block”, so to speak, I like to try to ask at least one question that they’ve never gotten before, because, otherwise, what was the point?

In this case, that question was evidently about the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation opening theme/title song, written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil.

Another thing I like is when some of my interviews tie into other interviews, creating a sort-of unique story that’s told across my site.

Coming off my coverage of Beautiful at the Marriott Theatre, in which the couple were integral characters, it was great to be able to take a brief look at the other side of that songwriting table.

While this was supposed to be a video interview, an unfortunate technical snafu on my end only recorded the audio (and backup audio), with no visuals.

But I’m still pretty happy with it.
